Technology is growing by leaps and bounds. As it grows, the virtual world becomes more elaborate, more real. So far, the internet, including social media, has been an extension of our real lives. We have maintained a certain level of fidelity to our offline world but it seems that won’t be the case for long.

We are transitioning into a world where it gets easier by the day to manipulate what people see and hear online.

Say I want to create a marketing video. In a normal world, I’d find some actors, go to a studio, and use cameras and microphones to shoot the video. Afterwards, I’d have to survive the editing phase.

Now, all I have to do is think of what I want. Then, without leaving my room at home or in the office, I can have it. Everything in the content creation process can be done by artificial intelligence

Content Creation in the World of Artificial Intelligence

For starters, there is software that can write copy. So, I’d just input some guidelines and such a software would give me a script. There’s also ai software that can generate convincing voice-overs. So, I’d effortlessly convert my ai-generated script into ai-created speech.

All that remains now is to assign a face, or faces, to my audio.

In come ai created faces. Computers can now create fake people. The results are so convincing that humans can’t tell them apart from real faces. What is more, these fake faces can be animated according to the creator’s whims.

Back to my marketing video example, I would go on to merge the video and audio, coming up with a finished product that looks like real video.

If I wanted to incorporate gestures and advanced facial expression into my video, I could use a driver video. The fake people would copy what the real people in the driver video are doing, giving my fake video that much more authenticity.

And, did I mention that the ai generated voice-overs would have tonal variations taken care of? The software is even capable of putting emphasis on certain words, just like humans.

That, is the future of content creation.

Bringing Dead Characters to Life

But wait! It gets even more interesting. We can incorporate dead people into our stories now. I can get Abraham Lincoln to teach a history class or Michael Jackson to sell my online dance lessons. Just because you’re dead doesn’t mean that you can’t continue doing and saying things among the living.

Using the deep nostalgia technology, dead characters can be animated. All that’s needed is a photo or painting of the deceased.

One of the ways that this technology is being put to use is in family heritage. People are bringing their dead relatives to life, not to use them in any naughty videos, but to meet and connect with them; in ways that would previously have been impossible. As you can imagine, it’s an emotional roller-coaster for some. For others, it’s too scary to attempt.

When people are not connecting to their dead relatives, they’re using this technology purely for fun. Historical figures are being made to do hilarious things. For example, it’s not unusual to come across a video of Mona Lisa smoking, dancing or smacking lipstick-smudged lips.

The applications of the technology behind deep nostalgia are endless. For example, in the near future, it will be possible to alter the facial expressions on stock photos so that they match a certain context. Thus, if you want an angry Abraham Lincoln, yet you can only find a photo of him smiling, all you’ll have to do is wave a virtual wand on your computer and Lincoln will be assume whatever expression you want him to.

Other applications include personalized emojis and video face blurring using solutions like d-id ai video. With video face blurring, the privacy and security of individuals in video footage can be better guaranteed.

Conclusion

Artificial intelligence seems set to play a prominent role in content creation in the future. Since it’s cheaper to create content using artificial intelligence, traditional methods may even be phased out. As technology continues to advance, it will be interesting to see the kind of applications that emerge.
